I have a bad oil leak on my 99 7.3. It seems to be coming from the oil pan rail just above the starter there a about a 1/2" diameter hole that appears to lead to the flywheel area inside the bellhousing, there is a leak that appears to be from the edge of this hole and the pan where it meets the block. I cannot see anything from above leaking but I cannot access the back of the turbo to look back there, is this the area oil from the valley or from above would exit or does it typically go to the bottom of the dust shield to exit? Has anyone had the oil pan silicon seal at the block suddenly start leaking??? I mean leaking pretty good, the truck has over 400,000 miles and really do not have the time to pull the engine right now. Any thoughts or past experiences are appreciated.
