Drive to Clean exhaust filter- wrench symbol?

I am using my truck primarly in town... twice now I have gotten the " Drive To Clean Exhaust" message and had to for goe a couple times... and got the "Wrench" symbol inthe dash. Once I was able to drive until I got the "Clean complete" it went away....

Irritating... is there any way to manually do a regen...???
