I left the house this morning in florida, warm weather truck started great. I drove about 5 miles north to drop my daughter off at daycare. Parked , got back in started it was running great. Heading south about 3 miles past my house I hit traffic. As it was sitting it started to shake real bad and when i went to go some it shook alot and shuddered and I didn't seem to have all the power as if i was only on half the cylinders. I quickly made a U turn and limped it back home. All the way home I didn't notice any smoke at all out the back.
I shut it off. I tried starting it and it started right up then shut it back off. I let it sit for about 4 hours till my brother in law could come over with his Autel Scanner.
First thing we did is put some seafoam in the secondary fuel filter. He isn't a pro on diesels ( mainly gas vehicles ) neither am I but he ran whatever tests he could see on the screens. We started the truck and it seemed to run just fine even when holding the brake and giving it gas. One thing we did was he was able to shut off one injector at a time and switched it back on as soon as we heard a change in the motor which was a matter of a second or two. We did this to see if we could see if it was an injector, thinking if it was a bad injector we wouldn't notice a motor change once we shut that one off. All seemed to do the same thing. We also did the buzz test and that seemed to work good too.
We were able to get some codes although the truck never threw a CEL.

Now some of these we think might have been thrown when we were shutting off injectors. We cleared all the codes and took it for a drive around the block with him driving. We took the first left and drove great, one block and made another left still great.. meanwhile I am like what the heck now it's running. Took the lest left and headed down our street and half way down it started doing it, shaking some and losing alot of power.
I thought the way it was in the morning it was an injector, but after searching alot on the codes I see related to the glow plugs. Would a glow plug issue cause this? I am sure I can go out now and drive almost all the way around the square block until it started doing it again. I am trying to diagnose as much as I can before having to hand it over to the dealer to inspect what is going on. I wish i could say it was something cheap to fix as with the holidays here but doesn't seem like it.
