Concerning an 2001 7.3......
There is a white plastic port on the vacuum pump that is open to the engine compartment. What is its purpose?
The tee broke off that connects this white side to the other side of the pump. I'm assuming is is akin to like a shreader valve/purge valve?
Could I simply put the hose over the exposed white barb and leave the hole (from the broken tee) off? It looks like the inside of the white nipple is hollow.
I need to get the vents working until the new part arrives from eBay.
It's going to get real cold here soon and my friend is going to have cold feet.:icon_mad:
Also, what is the thing the vacuum line goes to before the line enters into the tank?
Is there any good information on this pump system floating around as so I can learn a bit more about how it works?
