I hope someone else has experience with this problem as its been a pain.
I have a 98 International 4900 with a DT-466E.
Its a great truck with 700k on it (about 325k on the engine).
For a few years it has one bad habit that just got worse.
When the outside temp is in the teens it starts fine but right after starting the warn engine light will come on, I would restart it and it would go away.
A couple months ago this happened (not cold out) but the light wouldnt go out and I had no accelerator. I checked the codes and I had a throttle sensor and baro code. I replaced the throttle sensor and all was good.
It got down in the teens again, I started it up, no warn light on but when I got back in the truck after letting it warm up a couple minutes it was on and I again had no pedal. Restarting didnt make it go away. I checked the codes, still had the same two codes so I replaced the baro sensor, it was still cold out and it started fine, no light on but when driving it a short distance it was not right and acted like the accelerator sensor had a short, it ran but would stutter like it was not getting a steady throttle signal. It got worse, I ended up idling back as I had no throttle.
Went out today (temp in the 40s) and all is good, runs fine like always?
Something is affected by the cold, any input would be appreciated.
