Hello fellow diesel enthusiasts!
I have an 01 f250 4x4 7.3l with 185,000 miles on it. I have owned the truck for almost 2 years now and since I can remember its always been really loud. I thought it was normal that a few are loud but mine seems super loud to the point that its annoying. Its not the exhaust that is loud, its the actual engine/tranny that seems to be loud as hell. Its so loud that its annoying when I am outside of the truck. So I started researching and I found a post where another guy's truck is loud like mine and described it perfectly that it sounded like "Marbles bouncing around." It seems that the sound only occurs at idle and once I accelerate it goes away. I pulled the tranny dipstick and couldn't see any shavings and the fluid didn't look burnt. I wanna nip this problem in the butt before my tranny detonates.
>>I have provided a link to a video that I took of my truck so you can hear the noise I am hearing.
One other think. I hear a clicking noise coming from under the hood. Not sure if its anything or not.
