hello everyone. im new to the diesel world, i have been looking at a 94:ford: f250 7.3 l power stroke turbo 4x4.5 speed trans and it has 200.000 miles on it.. i was needing some advice.. this truck has a black box with some buttons on it.it is located in the cab (center) with wires connecting it to truck i was told it was an idle controller.any one know what this is for? it has ford printed on it.. this truck blows black smoke when accelerating and shifting gears. the man told me that he sent the computer off and had it reprogrammed and this was why it was blowing black smoke it has aftermarket air filter witch was clean he said that he put larger injectors in it also.it has exhaust gas and turbo pressure gauge. i have heard that the injector pump or injectors will also make it smoke like a train.any help will be appreciated thanks
